Third Annual Women’s History Month Community Event Celebrates Outstanding Women in Health Care
ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ hosted its third annual Women’s History Month community reception in celebration of extraordinary women making a difference in health care. Hosted by President Hall on Thursday, March 10, the event gathered students, alumni, faculty, staff and community leaders on Mercy’s Dobbs Ferry Campus to honor the accomplishments of distinguished women leaders and their community impacts.
The reception speakers included: ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ School of Health and Natural Sciences Interim Dean Kathleen Golisz; Lauren Singelakis, M.S. '18, Vice President of Laboratory Operations for Mount Sinai Health System; Bishop Nancy Rosario, Chairperson of the Health and Human Services Committee for Community Board 10 in the Bronx; and, Dr. Traci Gardner, Medical Director for The Children’s Village.
Videos featuring Mercy Dr. Rosa Gonzalez ’69, Obstetrician/Gynecologist and Chien-Chi Huang, Executive Director of Asian Women for Health were shown during the program.
ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ President Tim Hall welcomed the guest speakers and attendees, while Mercy Executive Director of Media and Innovation Edie Magnus was emcee for the evening.
During the program, the women were recognized for their outstanding achievements, including leading teams through the pandemic, training the next generation of health care workers, advancing access to health care and driving innovations in the health sciences field.
