Thanks to Mercy’s Student Services Office, the Future Remains Bright for Miriam Alvear
Miriam Alvear found herself in difficult financial straits.
Alvear, a first-generation American who transferred to ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ from a school in Texas, might have had to drop out, risking losing everything she had worked hard to attain. Fortunately, the clinical laboratory science major found help in Mercy’s Student Services Office.
An enrollment management counselor met with Alvear, who made it clear she would do what it takes to stay at Mercy and complete her degree. The counselor set up a payment plan for Alvear and assisted her in locating grants and other sources of funding.
No longer needing to worry about how she would fund her education, Alvear intends to complete an internship and graduate in August 2019.
