Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
As Mercy prepares to reopen its campuses for the fall semester, we are sharing the College’s revised parking policy and shuttle schedule. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in adhering to these policies.
In keeping with CDC recommended cleaning protocols, all high touch surfaces on the Mercy shuttles will be wiped down after every trip and all shuttles will receive enhanced cleaning at the end of each day. Properly worn masks will be required for driver and passenger(s) for the duration of every trip. Remote scan temperature checks will be conducted on passengers before entering a shuttle.
On each of our campuses, we have identified single points of entry to each campus building where officials will check completed daily health self-screenings on the Mavericks Safe app or a paper form with the same information. New Details about Parking
- As a result of the coronavirus, the College has enacted strategies to reduce density at our campuses and, as a result, expects fewer cars at the Dobbs Ferry Campus. Therefore, the monthly employee rotational parking policy will be suspended until further notice. This policy will be re-evaluated on an ongoing basis and is subject to change based on capacity.
- With the suspension of the monthly rotational parking policy, there is no longer a need to operate the Palisade Street Parking Lot and shuttle to the Dobbs Ferry Campus. Therefore, this parking option and shuttle will not be operational.
- Mercy vendors are asked to park in the lower section of the Main Lot.
- For safety and convenience, parking applicants are asked to apply online. Instructions on how to complete the registration can be found here. Applicants now have the ability to upload documents and will be asked to provide proof of insurance, vehicle registration and a copy of their Mercy ID.
Commuter Students
- If you were issued a commuter student decal at any time during the previous four years and that decal is currently displayed on your vehicle, you do not need to obtain a new one unless you will be living in College housing at Dobbs Ferry this coming academic year.
Residential Student
- Residential student parking applications are available through Mercy Connect. The first 150 applicants will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis and approved by Residence Life.
- Residential freshmen are not permitted to bring a car to campus.
Details about Campus Shuttles
Due to the expected reduced numbers of students, faculty and staff on campus this fall and realignment of operational resources, the College will be making changes to shuttle availability and schedules.
- The Bronx to Dobbs Ferry Shuttle will run on a reduced schedule with limited capacity in order to adhere to social distance guidelines. The schedule can be found here.
- The Westchester Square to Bronx Shuttle will run on a reduced schedule with limited capacity in order to adhere to social distance guidelines.
- The following shuttles will not be in operation until further notice: Palisades (as noted above), Ardsley Train Station, Tarrytown and Hotel. Needs for these shuttles will be reevaluated on an ongoing basis.
Policies and Procedures
- Students, faculty and staff are expected to adhere to the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Parking Policy.
- The Passio Go! Shuttle app tracks shuttle locations and routes in real time. It is accessible via smartphones, tablets and desktop computers and can be downloaded from the or . Once you have downloaded the app, scroll through the list of schools and choose ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ. You will then be able to view the routes on a single page.
- All vehicles parked on any ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ campus must be registered with the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Department of Campus Safety and display a vehicle decal. This requirement applies to the Dobbs Ferry Campus and the shared parking facilities at the Bronx and Yorktown Campuses. Vehicles parking on the Bronx Campus must also display a separate hang tag in order to comply with Hutch Metro site regulations.
- If you were issued a decal at any time during the previous four years and that decal is currently displayed on your vehicle, you do not need to obtain another decal for the upcoming year.
- To receive a new parking decal, please follow these guidelines:
- Complete the College’s online vehicle registration. Instructions on how to complete the registration can be found here.
- One decal will be provided free of charge for each employee, for one registered vehicle. Requests to register additional vehicles will be reviewed by the Department of Campus Safety and a second decal may be approved at a fee of $25.00. Requests for replacement decals should be submitted to the Department of Campus Safety via the online application and will be subject to a fee unless the previously issued decal is removed and returned. Damaged decals, including partial fragments, should be brought to the Department of Campus Safety and will be replaced free of charge. An individual will only be allowed to park one vehicle on the Dobbs Ferry Campus at a time. Requests for exceptions by families with more than one Mercy employee can be made to the Department of Campus Safety. Those with a valid, state-issued handicapped sticker should contact the Department of Campus Safety at (914) 674-7225 regarding accommodations.
- Decals are distributed via the following:
- Students, faculty and staff at Dobbs Ferry can pick up decals from the Department of Campus Safety, Room 234, Main Hall, Dobbs Ferry during normal business hours. From 5 – 7 p.m. students can pick up decals from the Office of Student Accounts in Mercy Hall.
- Students, faculty and staff at the Bronx, Manhattan and Yorktown Campuses can pick up decals from the Office of Enrollment Services at each campus.
- Valid decals will be read by a parking monitoring system located at the gatehouse at the Dobbs Ferry Campus. The decal must be displayed on the outside rear, driver-side window and the barcode must be vertical. Any improperly placed decals are subject to a fine.
- Tickets will be given to drivers who park on campus without a valid decal. Payments are accepted online, in person, and over the phone at the Office of Student Accounts in Dobbs Ferry. A driver has the opportunity to appeal the ticket to the Department of Campus Safety in Main Hall.

Parking at the Bronx, Manhattan and Yorktown Campuses
Bronx Campus
To meet its obligations to all the organizations and businesses at the Hutch Metro Center, the Center’s management has allocated the following spots to Mercy between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- 350+ spots on the upper floors of Parking Garage B (on the right where you pass the guard booth).
- 20 spaces in the Parking Garage A directly in front of our building.
- 54 spaces in the North Open Parking Lot to the north side of our building.
- Those arriving after 9 a.m. should plan to park in the new Parking Garage B.
- After 6 p.m. and on the weekends, Mercy cars will be allowed to park in any available spot.
- In addition to the required ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ decal, Mercy faculty and staff located in the Bronx, will also be issued a hanging tag to attach to the rearview mirror for ease of access to this site.
Manhattan Campus
ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ students, faculty and staff can receive a discounted parking rate of $15 for 6 hours at the Quik Park garage parking facility, located on 312 West 34th Street. The entrance is on 33rd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. Only Credit Cards, no cash, are accepted for payment. There is an additional charge for oversized vehicles.
Yorktown Campus
Mercy parking decals will be required for all vehicles driven by Mercy students, faculty and staff at the Yorktown Campus and drivers will be expected to follow the policies outlined above when visiting other campuses.
Campus safety is everyone’s responsibility and it is important for all drivers to follow campus parking regulations. Security will be present at each campus to ensure each entering vehicle has a valid decal displayed on the vehicle. A parking patrol will ensure the enforcement of parking rules on campus. If a vehicle is in violation, it is subject to ticketing, monetary fines, vehicle booting, and towing.
- Vehicles parked in handicapped spaces without a clearly displayed state permit will be subject to immediate removal.
- Parking is not permitted on side streets around campus in accordance with an agreement between the College and the surrounding communities.
- Those who were granted the privilege of parking on campus are expected to drive responsibly and adhere to the campus speed limits at all times.
