Dear Residential Students,

The coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is changing day to day, requiring us to quickly adjust to the most current information available. This includes New York State Governor Cuomo having signed the ‘New York State on Pause’ executive order to reduce the in-person workforce by 100% effective 8:00 p.m. tonight, with limited exceptions.

The new directive we are operating under requires us to provide new guidance to you with respect of picking up any of your belongings that may remain in the residence halls. Given this new directive, you will unfortunately not be able to gain access to your room for the duration of this order or until new guidance is provided.  Previously scheduled appointments to come to campus after 8:00 p.m. today are cancelled.

Please know, however, that your rooms will be locked and access to the residence halls will be restricted. As new information becomes available, we will continue to communicate with you.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this difficult time as we all work through this uncertain situation. In addition, know that you can continue reach out to the Residential Life team with your questions or concerns at Residentiallife@mercy.edu or (914) 674-7277; we will do our best to respond in a timely and thorough fashion.

Sincerely,
Kevin Joyce
Vice President of Student Affairs
