ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ seal

Dear Students and Faculty,

I hope you are adjusting to the new ways of learning online—and finding time to relax a bit during this unusual spring break under difficult circumstances.

In preparation for the rest of the spring term and continuation of online instruction, I write to provide you with information and resources regarding access to academic resources and textbooks through ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Library and the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Bookstore.

In light of closure of the College’s campuses, all ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Library and ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Bookstore resources and services have transitioned online.

1. Library Services

The ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Library’s Virtual Library Services guide on the libraries’ website is available to support students and faculty with 24/7 access to ebooks, journal articles, electronic resources at Mercy and beyond, video tutorials, and more.

Librarians can provide research assistance via chat, text (914-930-5428), or email.  Chat-based reference service is available Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am-9:00 pm, Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm, and Saturday-Sunday, 11:00 am-7:00 pm.

2. Bookstore Services

The College’s bookstore vendor, Follett, has made available an array of services and resources:

  • Free shipping is available on Mercy Bookstore items with no minimum purchase; this includes course materials, supplies, apparel, technology, and more.  The bookstore will fulfill online orders as long as campus stores are accessible by staff.
  • Students may access ebooks from the Mercy Bookstore ( or  campus websites) free of charge with their mercy.edu email address; each student can access up to seven ebooks for the remainder of the semester.
  • The bookstore's partner, Lumen Learning, is offering  to help supplement content and to offer additional resources to faculty.
  • To assist with returns by mail, the bookstore is offering free shipping return labels and extending without penalty the non-return period.

For details on these services and resources, please visit websites for the  or  campus bookstores.  If you have questions, please contact the Dobbs Ferry campus store at mercy-dobbs@bkstr.com, and the Bronx campus store at mercy-bronx@bkstr.com.

We recognize that finding and using academic resources and services for classes can be challenging in this new online educational environment—and we are committed to making this path as clear and traversable as possible.  Be sure to let the Librarians and Bookstore staff know how they can best serve you at this time—and be in touch to let our Office know how the College can help you to finish the semester successfully despite difficult challenges we all now face.

With best wishes for good health and safety,

José Herrera, PhD
Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
