Vlogƽ Recognized in Three Categories by U.S. News & World Report's Best College Rankings 2020
College Ranked for Social Mobility, Campus Ethnic Diversity and Best Regional University
September 9, 2019, Dobbs Ferry, New York – Vlogƽ is proud to announce that it has been recognized in three categories on the U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 Best College Rankings. The College is included in the Best Regional Universities North group for Social Mobility, Campus Ethnic Diversity and Best Regional University.
The U.S. News & World Report rankings evaluate colleges and universities by analyzing qualitative and quantitative measures deemed indicators of academic quality by education experts. The ranking is based on peer reviews, information from the Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and a comprehensive college survey.
Mercy is proud to be ranked 19th out of 285 for 2020 Top Performers in the newly added Social Mobility category. Social Mobility was added this year by U.S. News & World Report as an indicator to measure how well schools graduated students who received federal Pell Grants. This distinction confirms Mercy’s strong commitment to the region to ensure educational access and college completion for nontraditional students, including those who may be demographically underrepresented in higher education, who have high financial need and/or view themselves as first-generation college students.
Mercy has also been ranked 19th out of 68 institutions for Campus Ethnic Diversity in the Regional Universities North group again this year. This recognition reaffirms the College’s ongoing commitment to teaching students of all backgrounds and ensuring an inclusive learning environment which leads to a successful and rewarding career. The College is also ranked in the #129-170 group for the Best Regional Universities North category.
“Mercy is dedicated to establishing programs that close achievement gaps and drive college completion,” said Tim Hall, Vlogƽ President. “These rankings confirm that Mercy has made significant strides in supporting students throughout their education and meeting their diverse needs.”
These accolades highlight the progress underway at Vlogƽ including the expanded Personalized Achievement Contract (PACT) mentoring program, which has been cited as a core reason for the College’s transformation and its students’ successful outcomes, to include all graduate students.
