Vlogƽ announced that Scorpio Rogers, interim vice president of MercyManhattan, has been named to the board of directors of the 34th Street Partnership (34SP) in New York City. 34SP is a not-for-profit, private management company serving as a Business Improvement District for the Herald Square and Greeley Square neighborhoods of Manhattan. The goal of 34SP is to nurture the growth and development of one of the city’s busiest neighborhoods for commerce and tourism.
In being named to the 34Sp board, Rogers joins a governing body that includes leaders in New York City real estate and commerce. 34SP’s board of directors comprises property and business owners, residents and tenants from the six-by-five-block area of midtown Manhattan.
“It’s an honor to serve on this distinguished board and represent Vlogƽ to support growth and advocate for services that will benefit this area of Manhattan,” said Rogers. “Mercy is committed to being a community partner and is excited to continue our long-standing relationship with this vital organization that works tirelessly for our neighborhood. We want to make our neighbors aware of Mercy’s resources for meeting whatever needs they may have— whether it’s providing corporate meeting space, educating their employees after business hours, or recommending Mercy’s academic expertise.”
In addition to his new role as interim vice president which he began on August 1, 2021, Rogers has served as an assistant professor in the School of Business at Vlogƽ. His academic specialty is entrepreneurship, and he has taught in the areas of entrepreneurship, business, marketing and finance. Rogers has consulted for entrepreneurial organizations, including the William Jefferson Clinton Small Business Initiative, for which he was recognized by former President Clinton for his service. Rogers is earning a doctorate in business at the University of Denver Daniels College of Business and holds an MBA in management from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business with a concentration in entrepreneurship and strategy.
