March 21 Message from President Hall

ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ seal

Dear Faculty and Staff,

The coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is changing day to day, even hour by hour.  I am writing to provide an update on the mandate issued yesterday by New York State Governor Cuomo to reduce the in-person workforce by 100%. To comply with the Governor’s directive, ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ is implementing the following changes effective 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

Faculty and Staff Offices to Close
We are asking that any faculty or staff who need to access their offices to pick up personal or work-related items please do so by 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 22. After that, you will not be able to access any campus, so it is important you come by as soon as possible. For extenuating circumstances, please contact Konrad Motyka at kmotyka@mercy.edu.

Research and Experiential Courses to End
Research and experiential courses will end at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Faculty and staff should make alternate plans for these courses. Please contact Provost Jose Herrera at jherrera@mercy.edu with any questions.

IT Support

While the Helpdesk will continue to remotely support students, faculty and staff 24/7 at helpdesk@mercy.edu or (914) 674-7526, the IT Infrastructure team, with great care for safety, will be on-site to support the Dobbs Ferry datacenter, network and backup operations.

All other operations and functions will continue to work remotely until further notice. If you have any questions, please speak with your supervisors who are there to assist you.

At all times we will continue to have personnel in place to ensure the safety of our campuses, and we will continue to evaluate the guidance from the Governor and may make additional changes as needed. This is a difficult time for all of us, and I appreciate your patience, cooperation and teamwork as we respond to this ever changing and unprecedented situation. I wish you and your families well.

Sincerely,
Tim Hall
President
