Dear Vlogƽ Alumni,
As we are all adjusting to this rapidly changing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we wanted to reach out to you, our alumni, to let you know what Vlogƽ is doing for the health and safety of our community. As always, Mercy is committed to ensuring that students have a clear road ahead to finish their semester with as much support as possible.
As you may be aware, the College has had confirmed cases on both the Dobbs Ferry and Bronx Campuses. We are following the direction of the Westchester County Department of Health and the New York City Department of Health who are leading the effort in this ongoing situation. To ensure we are providing the most up-to-date information to our community, we created a dedicated webpage that provides safety recommendations, preventative measures on staying healthy and answers to frequently asked questions, including how Mercy is responding to this situation.
We know how important college-wide resources are to the success of our students, and therefore are offering limited campus schedules to ensure access to computers, libraries and the internet. Library hours can be found . The College is also continuing to offer resources including IT support, online learning support, online tutoring, and health and counseling services. With limited staff in place, Mercy has closed the Hudson Hall Fitness Center and suspended on-site career service support at this time.
The College has also initiated many measures that provide for the well-being of the Mercy community, including moving academic instruction online, cancelling events and activities, and continuing a thorough cleaning and enhanced disinfection protocol across all campuses and locations. We have also implemented the College’s telecommuting policy for faculty and staff through Sunday, March 29. In addition, the East Coast Conference has announced the cancellation of the spring 2020 sports season. Questions about this schedule change can be directed to athletics@mercy.edu.
As President Hall previously communicated to students, faculty and staff, “Our Mercy community is strong. We will continue to look out for one another and help each other as we navigate this situation.” We thank you for your unwavering support and will continue to share updates as necessary. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with your additional questions at alumni@mercy.edu.
Sincerely,
Alexis Rothenberg, M.B.A. ’17
