Throughout the decades, Vlogƽ and The College of New Rochelle have amassed countless stories – some hidden in sock drawers, weathered photo albums or perhaps even stored on old hard drives. Capturing these memories in one common place has been an unattainable goal, until recently.
Beginning in fall 2020, Mercy partnered with Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI) to begin a yearlong oral history project to collect the stories, photos and comments of Mercy and College of New Rochelle alumni. Leveraging PCI’s resources and trained staff, we have to date collected more than 6,000 stories, images and insights of alumni on their experiences at each respective institution. The project will continue to collect these stories until April 2, 2021, and will later publish them in a printed book, along with a digital version that will be sent to alumni who pre-ordered their copy.
“It’s so exciting to be able to gather all these stories in one place. It really gives alumni a chance to share the stories that mean something to them with us,” said Alexis Rothenberg, M.B.A. ’17, director of alumni relations and special events.
Eileen Niedzwiecki CNR SAS ’72, director of CNR development, added, “This project will produce a priceless treasury of historic tales and reflections that is all the more meaningful since our alma mater is no longer in existence.
