April 20 Message from Provost's Office

Dear Students,

I hope you and your families are well, and your online instruction is proceeding productively.

As I communicated to you on April 9, the College has finalized a new grading option that will allow students to elect into a Credit Earned /No Credit Earned (CE/NE) grading process.

I am writing to remind you that the process for electing into this new grading option is now open through Mercy Connect in the Student Tab.

The deadline to complete this request is 5 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2020. Once the request is processed, the CE/NE grading option will be permanently posted to your transcript and cannot be changed.

These grading modifications are in place to encourage you to continue your academic studies. All students should be aware that although CE/NE grading is an option for most courses this spring, it may not be the best choice for everyone. It is strongly advised that students consult with their Program Director or PACT mentor to discuss implications of opting for CE/NE grading.

You can find the CE/NE policy and Frequently Asked Questions on Mercy’s coronavirus webpage.

Please know that faculty and staff are here to help you in any way possible.

Sincerely,
José Herrera, Ph.D.
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
