Francine M Seruya PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA

Dr. Francine Seruya received her BA in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and her MA and PhD in Occupational Therapy from New York University New York, NY. Dr Seruya began her teaching career as an adjunct faculty at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ and then followed with adjunct positions at New York University, Kean University, and Dominican College. Dr. Seruya was a Clinical Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at Quinnipiac University, Hamden, CT. She was also the Program Director for their Post-Professional Doctoral Program.

Her professional experience is in school based and Early Intervention settings and her research focuses on the role of occupational therapists in school based settings and parent coaching models in Early Intevention practice. Dr. Seruya has multiple publications in the occupational therapy literature and presentations at national and regional conferences. She also is an editor on recent texts in Occupational Therapy including the use of theory in school based settings and frames of reference in pediatric practice. Dr Seruya has recently worked with colleauges at Mercy to obtain a 2.1 million dollar HRSA grant to support students as beginning researchers exploring challenges of Hispanic Mothers parenting with menatl health diagnoses.
